At Chambers Family Law, we believe that transparency builds trust. While every case is unique, we want clients to have a clear understanding of how our firm structures its fees.
Hourly Billing
Our services are billed hourly based on the attorney handling your matter:
- Eugene “Pete” Chambers, III: $600 per hour
- Brandon Chambers: $395 per hour
Family law matters often involve complex and evolving issues. Because every case is different and has its own set of facts; and mainly because there are far too many variables to consider, it is impossible for us to ever predict total legal fees in advance. However, each client receives itemized and very detailed invoices outlining the time incurred each date on their case, and a description of the exact work performed.
Retainer Requirement
All new matters require a minimum retainer of $10,000; however, a higher retainer may be required depending on the facts and complexity of the case. The retainer is held in our trust account and billed against as work is completed. Clients are notified if and when additional retainers may be required, subject to the specifics of that case.
Flat-Fee Services
We do not offer a Flat-Fee arrangement for any case. Further, we rarely provide a prediction or projection of what the total fees may run for any case, with the sole exception of drafting Prenuptial Agreements, which depending on the complexities, assets, and issues involved, generally run between $5,000 and $10,000 to prepare a valid and enforceable Prenuptial Agreement. This also applies to Postnuptial Agreements and Reconciliation Agreements.
Why We Don’t List Total Case Fees
Every client’s circumstances, financial structures, contested issues, and the level of cooperation between parties, and the opposing counsel in the case, all impact the total cost of representation. Providing fee ranges could unintentionally mislead potential clients. Instead, we focus on honest communication, regular and detailed billing updates, keeping you fully informed, and strategies that align with your goals and budget.
Value and Commitment
We understand that hiring a family law attorney is both a financial and emotional decision. Our firm’s approach is rooted in:
- Transparency: Clear explanations of billing and costs.
- Efficiency: Strategic preparation that minimizes unnecessary conflict.
- Integrity: Every dollar spent supports your legal and emotional recovery.
- Keeping you involved and informed along the way so that you are able to make informed decisions regarding the work to be done and the costs incurred on your case.
